Product safeguards (built into Askra)

These measures are implemented in the current Askra app and backend. They reduce risk; they do not make outputs professional advice or guarantee accuracy.

• Onboarding disclaimer — At first launch, Askra states that the app is for self-reflection and entertainment and is not medical, legal, or financial advice.
• Terms & Privacy acceptance — Before continuing past chart setup, you must agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy (linked in-app).
• AI content rules — Server-side instructions forbid the model from giving medical, legal, or financial advice, and tell it to decline illegal or dangerous requests.
• Crisis interception — Certain self-harm / crisis phrases are detected on the device. When matched, Askra does not call the AI and instead shows support resources (including findahelpline.com and emergency numbers).
• Crystal health disclaimer — Crystal screens state that crystals are tradition and symbol, not medicine.
• Privacy controls — Optional ads use Google’s consent (UMP) where required; paid Cosmic subscribers see no ads. You can delete your account and personal data in Settings.
• Abuse protection — AI calls go through our backend with Firebase Authentication and App Check; the Gemini API key is not embedded in the app.
